Robert Kowalski

Kowalski's "Sports Journalism I" is a continuation of the Journalism I and II courses already offered at Sierra Vista and extends students' writing opportunities in print, Web and broadcast journalism. The course focuses on vocabulary, grammatical conventions, and the writing process and methods. Students write season previews, athlete profiles, game summaries and track statistics for school athletic teams. Articles are used in the yearbook, seasonal athletic programs, the school paper and school Web site. Partnerships also are established with local print and broadcast media, providing both educational and workplace experience for the students.
