Clifford Peterson

Peterson's "Tutorial Reading" program addresses literacy and delinquency of youth incarcerated in the Caliente Youth Center (CYC). CYC students become reading tutors to local elementary school students. In addition to improving the reading skills of the elementary students, the program creates opportunities for CYC youth to gain self-esteem, demonstrate responsible behavior, and experience worthwhile community service.
