Human capital
As a company in an industry that relies on a skilled workforce, and in certain roles, a highly skilled workforce, the development of a high-performing workforce is important to the functioning of our business. Human capital development has, therefore, been found in our GRI-based materiality analysis to be a focus area for us. As such, we maintain robust talent recruitment and retention programs, including attractive employee benefit plans and career development programs.
Additionally, we maintain successful employee engagement programs in the areas of volunteerism, giving, nonprofit board placement and culture. We are also in the process of integrating diversity and inclusion into our business-level strategic plans, specifically in the areas of recruitment and retention. Our employees rate Voya highly on employee satisfaction and organization health surveys, a fact that is highlighted in the Corporate Responsibility Impact Report. We pride ourselves on the fact that our company has been recognized by several “Best Places to Work” designations, details of which can be found on our Awards and Recognition page and our company profile.
As per the GRI Standards requirements, below we detail a selection of the most recent human capital measures that help us analyze our workforce and the effectiveness of the programs mentioned above. Please note: All figures are as of the last calendar day of the year in which they are presented. Given employee headcount fluctuates on a regular basis, figures throughout the year and the resulting analysis is subject to change.
