Zelda Nathaniel

Nathaniel's project, the "East New York Family Academy Greenery" has three key objectives. The first is to introduce students to experimental education by participating in a seminar and conference at Frost Valley Environmental Educational YMCA. The second objective is to develop and construct a community garden and greenhouse. The final goal is to fur ther the school's relationship with Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to gain professional horticulture and agricultural expertise. The project allows students the opportunity to learn how to change their own physical environment. They will also learn how to develop their physical, social and cognitive skills through life science and hands-on instruction. Fellow educator Earle Yearwood also participated in the project. Nathaniel resides in Bronx.
