William Lawhon

Lawhon's "Building Trades" is a vocational education program in which students work on-site renovating single-family dwellings for use by low-income families. n addition to learning a trade, students improve their reading, writing and math skills on the job by obtaining permits, drawing up specifications, and developing bids based on estimates for material and labor costs. Academic skills are integrated and reinforced through collaborative efforts between the Building Trades, English and math instructors.
