Wetumpka High School

Vilardi’s winning program “STEM Education and Research” uses project based hands on inquiry learning for students to design, construct, problem-solve, fix and maintain a functioning robot for a specific task. This project is cross-curricular using physics, math, engineering, technology, language and business techniques. The students must decide or problem solve the requirements of the task, design a robot that will meet the task, decide on a scoring strategy, document the engineering process, research related information or topics, and then be able to market their product effectively.  This effort takes team work, builds leadership skills, brings excitement to learning and exposes students to a future in science.  Vilardi lives in Wetumpka.
