Cropley's "Multi-Sensory Integration Project" gives developmentally disabled students an environment that helps improve their overall abilities to process sensory information and effectively and appropriately interact with others. A multi-sensory room is equipped with visual stimuli, tactile objects, and various sensory motor features, all of which help students improve accommodation to touch sensation, increase eye contact, and enhance abilities to focus and relax. By offering a safe and peaceful atmosphere, the project helps students decrease aggressive behaviors and improve social skills.
