Tess Johnston

Johnston’s innovative teaching idea, “Tech for the Tubman Toads,” focuses on providing access to technology to fourth grade students as they improve in core subjects. Students will have daily opportunities to engage with technology and will learn to hone their typing, research, and writing skills. Students will also learn PowerPoint, Excel, and other systems that will aid them in future success. This project will expose students to technological skills that will allow them to be at a more competitive level. Through this project, students will gain confidence and expertise in technology skills that they will use in school and life. Through concrete technology learning experiences, Johnston aims to provide her students with necessary skills to be more prepared for school and life.
