Dobler’s innovative teaching idea, “Digitize our Notebooks,” is designed to help the environment and improve students' digital literacy by going paperless in her sixth grade science classroom. It will also eliminate the excuse of lost notebooks with all of their notes, projects, drawings and assignments. By digitizing their notebooks, they will create resources that are accessible from anywhere, in one safe place. The 92 students will use apps to create personalized documents, projects, and lab reports. In addition, tablets will be used for enrichment and remediation, virtual simulated experiments, and collaboration. Dobler believes the addition of a set of tablets for her students to use in class will help them join the digital world.
