Brunyansky's "Science Sleuthing: Who are You?" is a forensic anthropology and odontology program for high school students in the 11th and 12th grade. Students will use the actual techniques used in forensics to identify and assess skeletal indicators to determine height, age, race and gender. Students will make molds of their own teeth to analyze human dentition, teeth placement, bite marks and match dental charts. Students also will conduct archaeological digs of fictional crime scenes and provide all appropriate documentation such as GPS, map and grid marking, 3-D measurements for documentation and location of evidence, photography and much more. The goal of this program is to develop students who are more scientifically literate and better critical thinkers and to help motivate students to pursue careers in a scientific field.
