Garcia's "Making the Science Connection" project helps students thoroughly comprehend science concepts, vocabulary and processes, enabling them to apply these skills on a daily basis. The project provides students with science books and hands-on activities that reinforce reading skills while teaching students to work independently and comprehend what they are reading. Parents and community are invited to attend a Science Activity Night that enables families to explore science through hands-on experiments, Internet searches and reading stories together.
