Noll's "Digitized Literacy" project uses technology in a variety of ways to increase literacy in a population of at-risk learners. Using computers, digital cameras, switches and a newly developed device called a Bookworm, students of all ages and abilities are involved in reading and literacy. The program makes use of adaptive technology to involve students who cannot read in the traditional sense of the word. For example, Bookworm makes use of auditory and visual strengths and uses switches to assist students who cannot physically turn book pages. This exciting and innovative technology provides a curriculum built around the individual needs of each student.
