Shawna Carter
Carter’s innovative teaching idea, “Systems Go CTE Pathway,” offers an innovative Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that utilizes a hands-on learning approach and progressive curriculum. Through project-based learning, students tackle real-world challenges, from building models to designing rockets. The program integrates STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) concepts seamlessly, encouraging collaboration and critical thinking. With cutting-edge projects like rocketry, Systems Go fosters creativity and prepares students for future STEM careers. Through this pathway, Carter believes students will develop leadership, critical thinking and teamwork skills alongside mastering computer-aided design and fundamental engineering principles. The hands-on projects students undertake range from building scale models of houses to constructing energy-producing windmills and basic robots.
