Mills' "Resiliency Process" program empowers grade-school students and helps them realize they can improve their lives by choosing a positive thought process. The format consists of weekly affirmations, discussions, and journal writing designed to promote self discovery of innate resiliency. The goal is to enable students to use these inner strengths to combat life's stresses, dangers, and disappointments. By teaching students to manipulate negative thoughts and focus on more positive thinking patterns, the program leads to improved decision making and increased self-esteem.
