Sana Younis

Younis’ innovative teaching idea, “Diverse Creators Series,” is designed to give students the opportunity to create their own stories on social media such as Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube. The Voya Unsung Heroes grant funds will help purchase the production equipment needed for students such as mics, tripods for phones, lighting kits and a green screen. According to Younis, this will help them improve the quality of their creations as they enter Tribeca and other student film competitions and festivals. Ultimately, the program will help students develop more effective content while telling their own stories in their own diverse voices.
