Huber’s innovative teaching idea, “Kids Fit 52,” is focused on providing students with a diverse and comprehensive curriculum of sports and fitness activities throughout the calendar year. Over the course of 52 weeks, the students will be exposed to 52 different movement experiences that will change based on the seasons and type of skill required. In addition, students will learn how to engage in these movement experiences outside of school through community businesses, health clubs and fitness facilities offering a focus on their chosen interest. The goal is to introduce as many movement experiences as possible to help children find a sport or fitness activity that they enjoy to do, and which can help them stay healthy for life.  Community support and specials will be provided to students so they can enjoy the activity out of school and become fitness "ambassadors" to their friends and family. Huber believes that students who engage in physical fitness activities perform better academically. Getting students up and moving will help them get healthy and develop lifetime skills and behaviors to continue to remain healthy into adulthood.
