Robin Beamer

Beamer and Ceres Elementary School's "CERES" (Creating Enthusiastic Readers, Encouraging Success) project increases students' SAT-9 reading scores. The project makes a variety of literature available to students and uses appropriate computer software to help them master reading objectives. It also incorporates community volunteers as reading tutors and program assistants. By augmenting literacy skills and encouraging positive attitudes, the project helps students perform well on reading comprehension tests and establish good, permanent reading habits.
