Pomona Senior High School
According to Pizem, although students at his school live right along the front range of the Rocky Mountains and can even see them from the campus, many of them have not experienced the great outdoors. Hoping to change that, he came up with a unique program idea, " the Outing Club," which is an after school program to provide students an opportunity to learn about outdoor life. Students in the club will meet weekly to experience the wilderness, practice various fitness strategies and promote environmental awareness to their school and local community. They will learn rock climbing, yoga techniques and other important outdoor skills. The goals of the program are to give the students a sense of community, help them learn new skills, encourage them to stay healthy and to experience the world around them. Pizem lives in Golden.
