DeWeese's "Drama Outreach Project" is a project in which students assume responsibility for the production of a Shakespearean play and then take it on the road to perform at other schools, drama workshops, community celebrations, and art festivals. The program motivates non-traditional learners with post-performance Q&A sessions and actor-led workshops on trust building, improvisation, and drama techniques. Non-violent conflict resolution is also promoted by peer teaching of role playing and group improvisation. In addition to seeing a positive impact on their grades, students find their self-confidence enhanced, public speaking skills increased, and ability to work cooperatively improved.
