Robbin Colley

Leander, TX
New Hope High School
Colley's winning "Power House" project aims to add the Principles of Technology course to the list of available courses at New Hope High School. By introducing such a course, students will be exposed to physical science applications such as heat, electricity, fluid pressure, mechanical systems and energy. The students will learn how to transform and use different kinds of energy. They will be required to build model houses complete with solar panels, windmills, solar hot water tanks, hygrometers and electric motors. Engineers from the community support the project and will assist students with their building projects, allowing them to share their wealth of wisdom and real-world experience and to serve as positive role models. Colley lives in Round Rock.
