Richard Knoeppel

Knoeppel’s innovative teaching idea, “Generative Design (AI) for Architecture,” focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence, project parameters and data to help students create multiple iterations of the solution to an architectural design problem. Using Autodesk Revit and the algorithmic design software packages Dynamo and Grasshopper, students will learn the fundamental skills necessary to leverage artificial intelligence to solve building design problems. Knoeppel believes this project will empower students with problem-solving and analysis skills, such as finding errors and thinking logically.
