St. Martin High School

Humphreys’ innovative teaching idea, “Rapid Prototyping at St. Martin,” is designed to help students research, create, and execute the production of a 3D item using additive manufacturing. This latest trend in manufacturing, health, food, architecture and art industries — also called rapid prototyping or 3D printing — allows for quick, detailed and inexpensive creation of complex items. The overall goal is to inspire students to learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)-related careers and educational pursuits. After learning the capabilities of 3D printing, students will have the unique opportunity to create an object of their choosing based on their own research.
