Memorial High School
Reyna's "Blankets And Graphics (BAG) for Kids with Cancer" program will give Memorial High School students a chance to create keepsakes for children through graphic arts. Between 100-250 students will start by learning the Adobe Photoshop computer graphics program. From there, they will meet children with cancer and their families. This will give them a chance to bond, take pictures and gather ideas for the blanket pieces they will create. After creating their individual designs, each student's work will be printed on fabric squares to be later sewn together as a complete blanket. The students' signatures and information will be placed on the reverse side of the blanket to let the children with cancer know who created the keepsake. Students will also create a mini photo album of their group creating the pieces of the blanket to share with the cancer patients and their families. In the end, the students will have the opportunity to personally share the gift with the families and children. Reyna resides in McAllen.
