Raymond Lopez

Lopez’s innovative teaching idea, “Project S.T.A.R. (Students Turning in Assignments Responsibly),” seeks to improve academic performance in middle school students by giving them the tools and encouragement that they need to finish and turn in high-quality tasks on time. This effort stems from the realization that many students experience difficulties with time management, organization and motivation, which can result in missed deadlines and subpar work. Lopez’s goal with this initiative is to deal with these underlying problems and give students the advice, resources and support they need to gain abilities to thrive in school and life.
