Physical science students at Concord High School (CHS) are studying their BBBs instead of their ABCs thanks to the "Bulbs n-a Bulb n-a Bag (BBB)" project created by Browne for more than 100 of his students last fall. BBBs consist of a compact fluorescent light bulb packed with flower bulbs in a recyclable bag. This year, the project will expand to include distributing BBBs to all CHS students and organizing and hosting a day-long Energy Fair for the city of Concord. Planning for the Energy Fair is a collaborative effort among select CHS students and faculty, Concord's Mayor Mike Donovan, New Hampshire State Legislator Tara Reardon and University of New Hampshire Professor of Natural Resources Barry Rock. At the fair, students will sell BBBs to local citizens, staff information booths, conduct surveys and provide overall support. Plans also include inviting candidates participating in the New Hampshire presidential primary. By participating in this program, Browne hopes that students will gain a better understanding of global climate change and energy sustainability. Browne is a resident of Campton.
