Peyton Capretto, Maureen Leonard, Margret Williams, and Kelly Engelhardt

The team’s innovative teaching idea, “Snoezelen Sensory Room,” is for all special needs students, early childhood students, and behavioral needs students to use. Any funds awarded to the school would be used to purchase and install equipment for the sensory room. This room will be used for a variety of purposes which can be tailored to meet student's individual needs. These purposes include relaxation, stimulation, communication, decision making, therapies, sensory integration, improving fine/gross motor skills, socialization, and problem solving. These rooms are extremely beneficial to students with special needs and early childhood students, and would be the first of its kind in our parish.
