Penny Breuer

Breuer's "Flow and Anxiety Levels for Emotionally Disturbed Children" project aims to make the classroom a productive, safe, and enjoyable place for Special Education students. A "multiple intelligence" approach and various programs provide recreational and learning opportunities. For example, "How Does Your Engine Run?" is a program that helps children monitor alertness and appropriately change levels to adapt to situations. Another program involves a "Flow Area," which emphasizes their need to control anxiety and inner experiences by taking charge of personal activities and tasks.
