Opportunities are limited for severely disabled students between the ages of 17 and 22 to find work. Roberts has taught high school-age students with disabilities for 12 years and has created a program, "Duds and Dough", that will give her students work experience. "Duds and Dough" is a post-secondary program that will improve 10 students' skills in math, technology, daily living and social skills. Along with providing a catering service, this will be the first consignment shop in the county. Planning menus, grocery shopping, preparing refreshments and all foods for meetings will be among some of the duties of the students' catering service which is limited to the County's Education Center and School Board Office. The shop will offer clothes, jewelry and a variety of small household items to customers. Students will be responsible for the upkeep of the shop, assisting customers and logging inventory. "Duds and Dough" will prove that students with disabilities aren't as disabled and limited as many may think. Roberts resides in Wise.
