Norman Conard

Conard's "Multi-Cultural Projects for Teaching Tolerance" give Social Studies students the opportunity to create a video about the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Students perform all aspects of writing and producing, and then present the documentary to other classes in the district and civic groups in the community. In an innovative way, the project joins Uniontown High with the community in the process of learning about tolerance. The project develops students' research, technical, and communication skills while fostering creativity and compassion.
