Naticia Litven-Klatt

Litven-Klatt's "Stream Enhancement Project" involves students in research and conservation efforts as they try to save a nearby stream from proposed initiatives to relocate it. In the past, the school had released young salmon into the stream. They continue to monitor it for salmon activity and perform tests to determine its suitability as a habitat. The project gives students hands-on experience with data collection and analysis and increases science knowledge. As students make the community aware of threats to the stream, they develop an appreciation for environmental and conservation issues.
