Craft’s innovative teaching project, “Mustang Makers,” is designed to be a transformative experience for the students at Pulaski Elementary School. With the paradigm shift in the manufacturing industries across the country and world, products once made by multiple employees in multiple factories can, in some cases, now be produced faster, cheaper and stronger by one forward thinking designer and a 3D printer. Beginning as young as kindergarten, Craft wants students to acquire the skillset needed to be competitive in the workforce of tomorrow. The objective of the program is to create the ultimate collaborative environment between the STEM lab and the regular classrooms where reading, math, science and writing skills are paired with design thinking and problem solving in relevant, real-world and engaging ways. Craft hopes students will leave elementary school with an unparalleled mastery of core subjects, a mindset needed to think organically to create new, improved products that can be 3D printed, and the technical skills required to do so.
