Nancy Chapman

Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Chapman believes she can help empower students to lead healthier lifestyles through the program, "Wellness Works". Teen wellness ambassadors would be selected from high school Food & Nutrition classes to work with kindergarten and fourth-grade students as they complete activities that address more positive choices about food, being active and living healthy. Ambassadors will receive specialized training with two educators to learn grade-specific nutrition activities and resources for elementary school students. In addition to obtaining helpful information for healthy lifestyles, the student leaders will also benefit from an active learning process and facilitating low-level challenge activities with a teacher-leader. Each year, the ambassador team will determine an annual theme and timeline and collaborate with teachers to conduct community outreach designed to increase awareness through various communications tools and special events. Chapman lives in Tunbridge.
