Rogers' "Cherokee Native Garden" project is a yearlong study that combines technology, Cherokee culture and community involvement. Students establish a Cherokee native garden that includes native Cherokee plants such as ramps and sochan. Students learn the importance of these plants and collect data to determine the best methods for growing them. Students use technology to study the data and conduct experiments related to the plants' growth. Students seek community involvement in the project by requesting donations of handmade Cherokee crafts for display in the garden.
