Michael A. Boyer

The students in the senior design course of the Engineering Academy at North Penn High School will be exposed to Boyer's "The Future is N.E.A.R. (Nanotechnology Exploration And Research)" program. Nanotechnology is the science and technology of building electronic circuits and devices from sing le atoms and molecules. The students will use a process called electro spinning to create their own nanofibers that have an average diameter of less than 300 nanometers. It is designed to introduce the students to cutting edge engineering research and help them develop superior research documentation and problem solving skills. Through the rigorous research process, students will learn to analyze, quantify and assess their data while, at the same time, prepare themselves for the rigors of college life and the world of work. Boyer lives in Quakertown.
