Isaacs wants to help enhance the home-school learning connection through her program, "Listen, Learn and Love Literacy". The initiative, which targets kindergartners, would provide developmentally appropriate books accompanied with CDs and CD players that could be checked out from a Listening Library at Scott Teays Elementary School. During her tenure, Isaacs has encountered students whose parents did not read with them at home. She hopes this program will make it easy for parents to make reading a part of their children's daily lives and enhance their understanding about how early reading opportunities can contribute to lifelong learning success. Reading aloud with children helps them learn listening skills, vocabulary and language skills as well as develop their imaginations and creativity. Because kindergarten can set the stage for a child's educational future, Isaacs hopes this type of positive intervention will lead to the promotion of early literacy skills, leading to a potential passion for reading. Isaacs is a resident of Scott Depot.
