Blazek’s innovative teaching idea, “Endangered, But Not Forgotten,” is designed to help students research areas of the world to locate animals that are endangered and develop ways to help save the animals from becoming extinct. Children tend to have a desire to learn about animals — whether domestic or exotic, cute and cuddly, or wild and dangerous. Many children also have a natural passion for saving animals that are in trouble, but sometimes feel they are too small or young to make a difference. Through this program, students will be able to research a topic that is fascinating to them while also having purpose in helping save endangered animals and teaching others.
