Murray Avenue School

Crouch’s innovative, winning program, “Fitness Goes Hollywood,” aims to engage students in a non-traditional, physical education, kinesthetic learning adventure. The goal of the program is to bolster the Murray Avenue School Health and Physical Education program by incorporating digital video technology and editing software. Students will use digital video cameras during their physical education classes throughout the week to capture highlight footage on good form and technique. Students will then work in groups to compile and edit the footage, putting together highlight trailers that can be used to teach technique, skill, form or to simply showcase student achievement. Crouch is excited about the project’s potential to impact students that learn in different ways and excel visually, musically, spatially, kinesthetically and logically. Because the Health and Physical Education staff works with every student on a weekly basis, “Fitness Goes Hollywood” has the ability to potentially benefit the entire school district, engaging kindergarten through 12th-grade students both physically and academically. Crouch resides in Jamison.
