Smith's "Leo's Lab - An Interactive Classroom/School-Based Children's Museum" is a project in which fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students use computer technology to research and create a museum dedicated to the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci. Among many other activities, students create timelines, design banners, import pictures, create computer presentations, set up schedules, create advertisements, and eventually serve as docents to the museum. By crossing the disciplines of science, mathematics, language arts, social studies, and art, the project offers rich instructional tasks that connect various threads of learning.
