The team’s innovative teaching idea, “Share My Native Culture,” focuses on creating iPad apps about Native American Navajo language and culture. The apps will include language, songs, videos, photos, games and other information. Students will be involved in researching their native language, values and culture. To develop their projects, they will use a variety of technologies such as digital and video cameras. The final product will be shared with other students, community members and people across the country. In addition to providing a hands-on learning experience for students, Rule and her team believe that this project will spread awareness about Navajo culture and help save its endangered indigenous language.
