Mark Melamed

Melamed's project provided life-saving heart surgery to a child from an area where such surgery is not provided, while increasing students' awareness of multiculturalism. Students incorporated reading, writing, math, language and an appreciation of other cultures while raising funds to provide heart surgery for a child in need. To date the program has funded three young boys from Tanzania, Africa to receive treatment at the Deborah Heart and Lung Centre in New Jersey.
