Geneva Elementary School

Danielson’s innovative teaching idea, “Geneva Wild,” is designed to use the restoration of the native plant community as an opportunity to educate students about the local habitat, water cycle, cultural history, and their connection locally to global climate issues. The school has a number of forested groves on the perimeter of its property. During the past several years, teachers have begun to develop these areas as learning spaces for their students and the community at large. Unfortunately, a number of invasive species have displaced native plants. Through this project, new tools, books, scientific instruments, cameras, plants, trail and bench building supplies, and signage will help restore this native plant environment.
