Mackey Pendergrast

Pendergrast's "Local History Digital Library and Memorial" is an on-going project that honors local veterans and records their stories for future generations. Students research the lives of area veterans, ranging from participants in the American Revolution to those who served in recent wars. An Internet memorial is created containing biographies, and videotaped interviews are compiled into a digital library. A "physical" memorial in Mendham is also planned. In addition to creating a permanent record, the project develops research, writing, and computer skills and personally connects students to history.
