Sago, Toth, Wade, and Hersch's "Beep a Teach" program extends a teacher's teaching hours by providing a phone number for students to call from home when they have a question regarding their homework. An on-call teacher returns the students' calls and helps them with their particular homework problems. This program allows a teacher's effectiveness to reach beyond normal classroom hours.
