Lorenda Gordon

Gordon's "Reading, Writing and Quilting with Older Adults" project brings senior citizens into the classroom to participate in different projects with students. The seniors read stories to the students and then pair up to write their own. Once the individual stories are complete, quilt squares are designed, reflecting the stories that have been written. The program helps the students improve their writing and communication skills while providing the seniors an opportunity to make a difference in a child's development.
