Craddock's "Be Proud, Read Aloud!" project helps parents become more involved in their child's education. Targeted at below- and above-grade-level students, the program incorporates reading, writing, speaking and grammar. Each student takes home a Literacy Bag, which contains a book and corresponding activities for both the parents and the student to complete. Students write book reports discussing the stories they have read and parents can actively participate by attending the student's class. Rooted in the belief that parents play a vital role in their child's education, this project increases parental involvement, improves the child's academic performance and motivates students to read.
