Villalon's "Polyville" project is a study tool for Geometry students preparing for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test, a state graduation requirement. Polyville is a three-week, activity-based program that reviews knowledge and skills students learned throughout the year. Each class is divided into "city council committees," which compete against each other in building a three-dimensional city. Activities range from making 3-D buildings to creating people by using a number of mathematical concepts and applications. It promotes peer learning in an activity-based environment, and attendance during the project is close to 100 percent.
