Linsey Palazzi

Palazzi’s innovative teaching idea, “Let Them Speak for Themselves” focuses on the importance of public speaking and creating a debate program that will eventually lead students to learn and compete with area and state schools. Palazzi believes that students need to develop the confidence and the skills to find their voice and convey their thoughts in regards to the things that move them, whether it be in a government or in an artistic format. In preparation for the debut of the public speaking and debate program, public speech and debate will become a weekly event in classes, beginning in elementary school. Students will gather after school with mentors to present and discuss presentations, and all teachers will be asked to provide their students with one activity that requires some sort of public speaking. With students already expressing interest in participating in congress, readings, debate, and other public speaking events at local and state venues, Palazzi realizes that funding and financial support would be crucial in making these accomplishments come to life.
