Linda Maloney

"Treasure Your Library and Share Your Gems" is the project that students participate in to broaden their horizons. Maloney helps students learn how to use a public library by engaging them in a treasure hunt that includes receiving a library card. Parents are also invited to participate with their children. At the end of the treasure hunt, each student receives two books: one to keep and one to share with a less fortunate child. Along with learning how to use the public library, students learn how to locate and use the library materials. They also learn how to use authentic writing in a project and how to get involved in volunteer leadership that helps o thers in the community. Maloney lives in St. Peters.
