Layla Dedrick

Dedrick's 'Ai Pohaku Workshop project taught students how to carve their own pohaku ku'I 'ai, which is the traditional Hawaiian tool used to make poi. Once they had completed that, they were taught how to use it to make poi. During the project, students were required to make presentations which combined written, dramatic, artistic, and oral components, teaching students useful skills which they can use in other classes.
