Laurie Manion

"Getting Fit to Be Me" was developed by Manion to provide a fun, safe and effective environment where overweight teens can challenge their strength, flexibility, motor skills and cardiovascular endurance at Kosciuszko Middle School. Each participant is evaluated by a team of experts to develop measurable goals for themselves. The project encourages parental involvement and provides after-school club activities. The goal is to provide various fun activities for kids that will keep their interest and allow them to focus on their goals. Over time students will begin to develop stronger bodies and minds as well as improve their self-esteem. Manion resides in Milwaukee.
